Sonitpur (Assam), 19 February (HS): Sonitpur police recovered a 12 bore SBBL hammerless knockabout rifle, four live cartridges and two empty cartridges after searching 3-4 places during a search operation conducted on a tip-off. The recovered weapons and ammunition have been seized as per the prescribed procedure.

Officials said on Wednesday that further legal action is underway and the possible network behind this recovery is being investigated. This action of the security forces is part of the drive being run against illegal weapons.
