Agartala, 19 February (HS): The troops of the Border Security Force (BSF) deployed in Tripura on the India-Bangladesh border foiled several smuggling attempts, informed on Wednesday.
The BSF Tripura Frontier jawans apprehended a person trying to cross the international border in Putia area of Sipahijala district. Apart from this, 12 kgs of ganja, 189 bottles of Phensidyl / Escof, 250 kgs of sugar and other smuggled goods were seized at the border, the total value of which is estimated at ₹4,16,966.
In another operation, based on specific inputs, BSF Tripura conducted a special operation against cattle smuggling in the Panisagar area. During this, a vehicle loaded with six cattle being taken for smuggling was caught and two suspects were detained.
BSF Tripura has resolved to further intensify its drive against smuggling by increasing vigilance on the border.
