Arvind Kejriwal's 'Sheesh Mahal' is set to be investigated for potential violations in the construction of a lavish mansion.

New Delhi, February 15 (HS): Rohini's newly elected BJP MLA Vijender Gupta on Saturday praised the Central Vigilance Commission's (CVC) order to investigate Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Sheeshmahal. He said that Kejriwal will be punished for corruption.

Vijender Gupta said that the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) took cognizance of his previous two complaints and sought a factual report from the Public Works Department (PWD). On this basis, the Public Works Department of the Delhi government has been directed to conduct a detailed investigation into the alleged merger of properties for the expansion of the Six Flag Staff Road bungalow and the expenditure made on its interiors.

On the CVC's order to investigate the renovation of the Six Flag Staff Bungalow, Vijender Gupta said that the corruption of 'Sheesh Mahal' (AAP) and Arvind Kejriwal has now come to the fore. The CVC has taken cognizance on the basis of facts.

Gupta said that two letters were written to the CVC on October 14 and 21 last year. It was written in the letter to the CVC that the area of 'Sheesh Mahal' was originally less than 10 thousand yards but the adjacent bungalows and eight type-five flats were vacated and merged into it to make about 50 thousand yards. Its construction is illegal.

He further wrote that unaccounted luxury items worth crores of rupees were installed. On the basis of both the letters, the CVC has asked the CPWD to give a factual report.
