Imphal, 12 February (HS): Manipur Police conducted separate operations in the state and arrested rebels and recovered other weapons, explosives and smuggled items. According to the information given on Wednesday, Thongram Vidyasagar Singh (22), a outfit of KCP (PWG) rebel group, was arrested from Langol Game Village Zone 2 area of Imphal West district. Three mobile phones, three Baofeng handheld sets and four chargers, military uniforms, bags and other material were recovered from him. The police team also recovered two plastic tear smoke boxes from Langol Game Village Zone 1 area, which contained 58 empty tear smoke munition cases.
In another operation, police arrested two rebels belonging from Prepak (P) outfit group Ashem Dinesh Meitei (41) alias Aningba and Huidrom Tomba Singh (36) from Namdulong Khuyamah Lampak Main Stadium Road in Imphal West district. They were involved in extortion in the Namdulong area. Four mobile phones, a two-wheeler, two wallets, ₹9260 cash, an ID card, a side bag and a pamphlet of Prepak (Pro) were recovered from them.
Similarly, security forces recovered a huge cache of arms from Itham Uyok Hill Range under Thoubal Dam police station area in Imphal East district. These include two automatic country made rifles, 81 mm heavy calibre launcher, 65 mm mortar, two inch mortar, .303 bolt action rifle, one pompe gun, one pompe shell, four Chinese grenades, 2.5 kg explosives, one radio set, ten .303 live rounds and two 12 bore cartridges.
Besides, security forces arrested Hafizuddin (39) from Lilong police station area of Thoubal district and recovered from him 27 bottles of codeine phosphate containing cough syrup, total 72 capsules in 03 strips, one strip of 16 capsules and 150 open capsules.
