Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to Ahmedabad and Mehsana cancelled


Guwahati, 28 December (HS): Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah is arriving in Guwahati late Sunday night as part of his two-day visit to Assam. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma inspected the venues earlier in the day and briefed the media about the Home Minister’s scheduled engagements.

According to the Chief Minister, Shah is going to land at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Borjhar at around 11 pm. He will then proceed to the State Guest House located at Koinadhara Hills in Khanapara for an overnight stay.

On Monday morning at 9 am, the Home Minister will visit the Shaheed Memorial at Boragaon to pay tributes to the martyrs of the Assam Movement. From there, he will travel to Batadrava, where he will inaugurate the newly developed project at the birthplace of Srimanta Sankardeva.

Later in the day, Shah will inaugurate the newly built Guwahati Police Commissionerate office in the city. At around 4 pm, he will also inaugurate the state-of-the-art Vishnu Jyoti Kala Mandir, a 5,000-seat modern auditorium near the Khanapara Agriculture College and participate in several programmes scheduled at the venue.

The Home Minister is expected to return to New Delhi on Monday evening.--------
