Bhubaneswar, 27 December (H.S.) : Odisha Vigilance on Saturday arrested Sri Nihar Ranjan Sarkar, Junior Engineer of Malkangiri Block in Malkangiri district, in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case. He will be produced today before the Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore.
The arrest followed extensive searches conducted by Vigilance officials at multiple properties linked to the accused. During the searches, Sarkar was found to be in possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, which he allegedly failed to account for satisfactorily.
According to Vigilance sources, the seized assets include a triple-storeyed palatial building, eight valuable plots, cash amounting to ₹2.11 lakh, one four-wheeler, and other items.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance Police Station Case No. 40/2025 has been registered against Sri Sarkar under relevant provisions of law.
