
Pune, 27 Dec (HS): Farmers in Pandharpur, Sangola
and Mohl Tehsils have opposed change in the proposed Nagpur-Goa ‘Shaktipeeth
Mahamarg’. The farmers have demanded construction of the highway as [per the
original design. The proposed highway connecting many religious places between
Nagpur and Goa was conceptualised by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The changes in original design was from Solapur was
spelled out by Fadnavis during the Winter Session of the State Legislature.
After Fadnavis spoke about the changes, farmers in Pandharpur, Mohol, Sangola
and Atpadi region agreed to hand over their agricultural land for the highway. Earlier
they were opposing making available their land, but said that they are not
against the Shaktipeeth Mahamarg.
