Guwahati, 27 December (HS):
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Executive President Nitin Navin on Saturday offered prayers at the revered Kamakhya Temple, one of the most prominent Shakti Peeths in the country, located atop the Nilachal Hills in Guwahati. During the visit, he sought the blessings of Goddess Kamakhya for the nation’s prosperity, public welfare and social harmony.
Nitin Navin was accompanied by several senior leaders and office-bearers of the Assam BJP during the temple visit. The temple authorities facilitated his darshan and conducted the rituals in accordance with traditional customs. The visit is being seen as an important part of his ongoing Assam tour.
Party leaders said that the visit to Kamakhya Dham reflects the BJP leadership’s deep faith in and respect for Assam’s rich cultural, spiritual and traditional heritage. They added that the visit holds significance not only from a religious perspective but also in terms of organisational outreach and strengthening of the party in the state.
Notably, this is Nitin Navin’s first visit to Assam after assuming charge as the National Executive President of the BJP. During his stay, he is participating in a series of organisational programmes and interacting with party workers. On Friday, he attended the party’s executive meeting held at the International Auditorium of Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra, and later in the night, took part in a core committee meeting at the BJP state office.--------------
