Hailakandi (Assam), 27 December (HS):

Hailakandi Police have arrested a drug peddler involved in narcotics trafficking. Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted an operation in the Hailakandi area and apprehended the accused on Saturday.

The arrested person has been identified as Abdul Hussain Laskar. During the search, the police recovered drugs concealed in 53 small plastic containers from his possession.

According to the police, the accused had arrived in the area to sell the contraband when he was caught. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act and the accused is being intensive interrogated in connection with the matter.----------
