
Jaipur, 26 December (H.S.): Four policemen were injured after a mob pelted stones at police personnel while they were removing iron railings erected along a road outside a mosque in Jaipur district early on Friday, police said.
The incident took place around 3 am near the bus stand area of Chomu town, located about 40 km from Jaipur.
Police said tensions flared when personnel attempted to remove the iron railings, which had allegedly encroached onto the road. As the situation escalated, the mob resorted to stone-pelting, injuring four policemen.
To control the situation, police fired tear gas shells and used mild force to disperse the crowd. The situation was later brought under control and further investigation is underway.
