
New Delhi, 23 December (H.S.): The entire nation paid heartfelt tributes to former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna awardee Chaudhary Charan Singh on his birth anniversary, while extending Kisan Divas greetings to farmers and citizens across India.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla posted on X, stating, “On the birth anniversary of the late Chaudhary Charan Singh, I pay my profound respects. He served as the voice of villages, farmers, and laborers in Indian politics.”
Home Minister Amit Shah remarked that the former Prime Minister and farmer leader dedicated his life entirely to uplifting the agricultural system, farmer welfare, and social service.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh observed that the day, celebrated as National Farmers' Day, commemorates the ideology that placed farmers at the center of policy and nation-building. “Chaudhary Charan Singh's contributions to national development and farmer welfare will always be remembered,” he added.
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari noted that the former Prime Minister made every possible effort during his tenure to improve farmers' lives, extending hearty Kisan Divas wishes.
Minister of Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju hailed him as a vocal champion of farmers, offering respects on his birth anniversary and Kisan Divas greetings to all.
Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat emphasized that the path to national prosperity runs through village fields and farmlands, paying obeisance to the 'Messiah of Farmers' and Bharat Ratna Chaudhary Charan Singh.
Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh extended warm National Farmers' Day greetings to the nation's food providers and all citizens. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan affirmed that Chaudhary Charan Singh's ideas remain eternally relevant in building a developed and self-reliant India, inspiring ongoing efforts for farmer welfare and rural development.
Minister of State for Culture (Independent Charge) Rao Indrajit Singh stated that his thoughts and policies continue to guide farmer interests today.
