New Delhi, 23 December (H.S.): Outrage continues to sweep India over escalating attacks on minorities in Bangladesh, prompting Hindu organizations to stage vehement protests outside the Bangladesh High Commission in the national capital.
On Monday, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal led a charged demonstration at 11:00 a.m. outside the diplomatic mission, condemning the brutal mob lynching of Hindu youth Dipu Chandra Das. Protesters raised fiery slogans such as We will not tolerate atrocities on Bangladeshi Hindus, burned an effigy, and urged authorities to deport illegal Bangladeshi immigrants residing in India.
The protests stem from violent unrest in Bangladesh following the death of anti-India leader Sharif Osman Hadi, whose killing on December 18, 2025, in Singapore triggered nationwide riots targeting Indian missions, media outlets, and minorities.
During these clashes, a mob in Mymensingh savagely beat 27-year-old Dipu Chandra Das—a garment factory worker accused of insulting Islam—before hanging his body from a tree and setting it ablaze, with crowds celebrating the barbarity. Hindu and other minorities have faced repeated assaults amid the radical Islamist fervor.
