Bhubaneswar, 23 December (H.S.): Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday arrested Sri Rabindra Kumar Barik, Junior Accountant in the office of the District Manager (DM), Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation (OSCSC) Ltd., Sundargarh, in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case. He will be produced today before the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Balasore.

According to Vigilance officials, searches conducted at properties linked to Barik revealed assets allegedly disproportionate to his known sources of income. The seized assets include a multi-storeyed building, a market complex with a gym, and a Kalyan Mandap in Balasore town, a building in Baripada, four valuable plots in and around Balasore, 175 grams of gold, and bank deposits amounting to ₹43.81 lakh, among others. The accused reportedly failed to provide satisfactory explanations for the assets.

Following the searches, Balasore Vigilance Police Station Case No. 19/2025 has been registered against Barik under the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act. Further investigation is underway.
