
New Delhi, 22 December (H.S.): The National Commission for Women (NCW) inaugurated the Shakti Scholars Young Research Fellowship on Monday, inviting applications from young students and researchers to conduct policy-oriented studies on critical women's issues.
Eligible applicants comprise Indian citizens aged 21 to 30 with at least a bachelor's degree from a recognized institution, prioritizing postgraduate students, advanced researchers, or those who have completed higher studies. Independent researchers with proven capabilities may also apply, with selected fellows receiving a one-lakh-rupee grant disbursed in phases over a six-month research tenure based on progress.
Applications Open Till Year-End, Focus on Key Gender Challenges
Submissions opened on December 17 at 11 AM and close on December 31 at 5:30 PM via email to sro-ncw@nic.in, evaluated by an expert committee constituted by the NCW; shortlisted candidates will face online interviews.
The initiative fosters multidisciplinary research across domains like women's safety and dignity, gender-based violence, legal rights and justice access, cybersecurity, POSH implementation at workplaces, leadership and political participation, health and nutrition, education and skill development, economic empowerment, labor participation, socio-cultural practices, and work-life balance.
