New Delhi, 22 December (H.S.): External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will travel to Sri Lanka on Tuesday as Prime Minister's Special Envoy to hold discussions with the Sri Lankan leadership, exemplifying India's 'Neighbourhood First' policy amid recovery from Cyclone Ditwa's devastation.

The Ministry of External Affairs noted that the visit relates to Operation Sagar Bandhu, India's rapid humanitarian intervention following the cyclone that killed over 600 people last month and affected nearly 2.3 million individuals. As a neighboring nation, India responded first with essential relief supplies and continues supporting long-term rehabilitation efforts.
