Chennai, 21 December (H.S.) : State Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments PK Sekarbabu on Sunday launched a sharp counterattack against veteran BJP leader H Raja, asserting that fringe forces cannot derail the functioning of the Chief Minister MK Stalin led government.
The Minister's remarks came in response to criticism leveled by Raja against the department and the Minister himself in a recently released film. Sekarbabu dismissed the veteran leader as a political non entity and stated that a government delivering consistent results for the people remains unshaken by such baseless comments.
Speaking to reporters after inspecting several infrastructure projects under the North Chennai Development Plan, Sekarbabu emphasized that the administration is focused on fulfilling the roadmap laid down by the Chief Minister. He highlighted that the malicious forces attempting to divide people based on religious identity would never find success in Tamil Nadu.
The Minister further noted that he remains unaware of the religious backgrounds of the officials or journalists he interacts with, stressing the secular nature of the state's governance.
Providing updates on the department's activities, Sekarbabu stated that consecration ceremonies would be conducted in nearly four thousand temples across the state. He added that restoration works are currently underway at twenty four temples using advanced techniques.
The Minister maintained that the achievements of the current regime in serving devotees and maintaining temples are unprecedented and will stand the test of time.
He concluded by reiterating that the developmental works, including a major housing complex in Stanley Nagar with seven hundred seventy units, are on track for inauguration by January twenty.
