Nagaon (Assam), 19 December (HS): A massive fire broke out at a goat and poultry farm located in the Narchari area of Kaliabor, triggering panic in the locality.

According to reports, the fire engulfed the farm suddenly, leaving little time for rescue. Several goats and poultry birds were reportedly burnt alive in the blaze, resulting in heavy losses for the farm owner, police informed on Saturday.

The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Fire tenders rushed to the spot and managed to bring the situation under control after considerable effort. An assessment of the damage is underway, while authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.---------------
