Chennai, 16 December (H.S.) : The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), led by actor-turned-politician Thalapathy Vijay, is making comprehensive arrangements for a major campaign meeting scheduled on December 18, 2025, at Vijayamangalam near the toll plaza in Perundurai taluk, Erode district, Tamil Nadu. This event marks a significant step in TVK’s statewide outreach ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections.

Party administrative committee chief coordinator K.A. Sengottaiyan emphasized that preparations exceed police stipulations, prioritizing security, crowd management, and public convenience to establish a new standard for public gatherings in the state. The meeting, set from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., will feature Vijay announcing the timeline for receiving applications from aspiring candidates for the upcoming polls.

Anticipating around 35,000 attendees—including 10,000 party cadres and 25,000 from the general public—the venue offers open entry without passes or QR codes, with police determining entry timings. Extensive measures include 40 CCTV cameras, 40 walkie-talkies for coordination, 24 ambulances supported by 72 doctors and 120 nurses, 20 water tanks for bottled distribution, 20 temporary toilets, three fire service vehicles, a 20-acre parking area for two-wheelers, and 14 designated exit routes.

Approximately 1,500 police personnel will ensure security. No separate welcome area is planned for Vijay, reflecting a focus on simplicity. The event follows permissions secured after addressing initial concerns, including venue fees to the HR&CE department.

This gathering underscores TVK’s growing momentum and commitment to disciplined organization.
