
Mathura,
16 Dec (HS): According to authorities, a car pile-up on the Yamuna Expressway
in Delhi early Tuesday erupted into an inferno, killing thirteen persons and
injuring 43 others.
The
officer said that about 4.30 a.m., eight buses and three smaller cars crashed
in the heavy fog. The event took place under the authority of the Baldev Police
Station. The cars collided owing to poor visibility on the Agra-Noida stretch
of the Yamuna Expressway. Several automobiles also caught fire. Shlok Kumar,
Mathura Senior Superintendent of Police, said that all of the injured have been
taken to hospitals. Baldev Police Station SHO Ranjana Sachan identified two of
the deceased as 44-year-old Prayagraj resident Akhilendra Pratap Yadav and
75-year-old Rampal from Maharajganj district.
A
third, subsequently identified by the chief medical officer from Vrindavan, was
62-year-old Sultan Ahmed, a Gonda district native. Sachan stated all 13
perished from burns. Images from the scene showed burnt buses and automobiles
reduced to bare crumpled carcasses. Cranes were sent in to remove them from the
road. We are conserving the DNA of burnt remains so that we may match it with
information supplied by families. We
have identified three deceased passengers and are contacting their families,
Kumar stated. District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh stated that plans are being
made for the funeral rites of those whose remains have been recognized, as well
as treatment for the injured. The DM directed a four-person team to examine the
traffic accident and deliver a report within two days.
The
committee will be led by Amresh Kumar, Additional District Magistrate
(Administration). The SSP, who was there, stated that the unidentified motorist
had been charged at Baldev Police Station. Meanwhile, Chief Medical Officer Dr
Radha Vallabh stated that two distinct teams of physicians had been established
for the post-mortem of the deceased and the collecting of DNA samples. He
stated that the police had handed 17 corpse bags for post-mortem. He stated
that some of the badly injured had been taken to the SN Medical College and
Hospital in Agra, while others had been sent to Delhi. The CMO further stated
that at midday, 43 individuals had been transported to the Joint District
Hospital in Vrindavan for treatment.
There were ten ladies and thirty-three men.

According to the report, none of the injured are in serious condition. A
wounded individual at the hospital stated that the bus was going for Delhi. It
was foggy. The bus was heading to Delhi. Numerous individuals have perished. I
shattered my back, he explained as he lay on a stretcher. SSP said that
passengers were transported to their destinations in government vehicles.
In
a post on X in Hindi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conveyed his
sympathies to the deceased's family. The loss of life in a car accident on the
Yamuna Expressway in Mathura district is both devastating and painful. He expressed his sincere sympathies to the
departed families. I have directed district administration personnel to
guarantee that the injured receive adequate treatment.I pray to Lord Ram
to grant peace to departed souls and speedy recovery to the injured,
Adityanath stated. According to a tweet from his office, the chief minister
declared Rs 2 lakh apiece for the family of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each for
the injured.
