Varanasi,
15 Dec (HS): A spiritual group from Tamil Nadu, participating in the fourth
edition of the Kashi Tamil Sangamam, being held in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh,
arrived at Hanuman Ghat on Monday. They bathed in the holy Ganges River and
worshipped Mother Ganga amidst chanting of Vedic mantras. After bathing in the
Ganges, the group visited and worshipped the ancient temples located on the
ghat. A guide provided detailed information about the temples' history.
Afterward,
all the Tamil delegates visited the home of Tamil poet Subramania Bharati at
Hanuman Ghat. There, the group met with third-generation members of his family.
The group was eager to learn more about the Tamil poet. They also visited the
library near Subramania Bharati's home and gathered a wealth of information. After
visiting Subramania Bharati's home, the group visited the Kanchi Matha and
learned about its history. The group was excited to see the South Indian temple
in the Hanuman Ghat area. This spiritual group interpreted Kashi in their own
way. Some were remembering their ancestors, while others were emphasizing the
unity of culture and embodying the vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha
Bharat (One India, Best India).
V.K.
Raman, a member of the group, said, We visited the temples and were
amazed to see the similarities between Kashi and Tamil Nadu. The culture here
is identical with our culture. Such events should be held regularly to realize
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha
Bharat.
