Amravati, 10 Dec (HS): Amravati Crime Branch of Police

seized a container illegally carrying cattle of cow progeny. Police rescued 33

animals and seized the container.

Based on intelligence information the squad on the Samruddhi

Highway led by Pi Kiran Wankhede and PSI Vishal Rokade searched container

parked on Ashta Diversion on Pulgaon-Dhamangaon Railway section. On search 33

animals were found in it. Their limbs were tied to prevent their movement. Neither

the driver nor cleaner were present on the site.

The animals were rescued and the container worth Rs 15

lakh was seized by the police

Mangarul Datsagir Police have registered an offence

relating to smuggling of cow progeny against the driver. Further investigation

is in progress.
