Delhi, 4 November (H.S.): The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced the India A squad for the upcoming Rising Star Asia Cup.Wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma has been appointed to captain the side, while Punjab all-rounder Naman Dhir will serve as the vice-captain.
In a notable inclusion, young batting prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi has also been named in the 15-member squad.
The tournament is scheduled to take place in Qatar from November 14 to 23. India is placed in Group B with Oman, UAE, and Pakistan A, and will begin its campaign against the UAE on November 14.
All matches will be held at the West End International Cricket Stadium in Doha.
Group A will consist of teams from Bangladesh A, Hong Kong, Afghanistan A, and Sri Lanka A.India A squad: Priyansh Arya, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Nehal Wadhera, Naman Dhir (Vice-captain), Suryansh Shedge, Jitesh Sharma (Captain/Wicketkeeper), Ramandeep Singh, Harsh Dubey, Ashutosh Sharma, Yash Thakur, Gurjapneet Singh, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Yudhvir Singh Charak, Abhishek Porel (Wicketkeeper), and Suyash Sharma.
