Ahilyanagar, 17

Oct (HS): Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Rahuri Constituency in Ahilyanagar,

Shivaji Kardile, passed away following a massive heart attack on Friday early

morning. He was 66. He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Kardile contest Assembly

election in 2009 for the first time on a BJP ticket and lost. He, however, was

elected from the same constituency in 2024. Prime Minister had addressed

election campaign rally for him.

Before entering active

politics, he was a wholesale supplier and was in Hospitality Business. He was

also chairman of Ahmednagar (Ahilyanagar) District Cooperative Bank. He was a popular

leader among the farmers.

The last rites

will be performed in the evening.
