Sitapur, 17 Oct (HS): Passengers carrying a patient from

Dehradun, Uttarakhand, to Varanasi in a private ambulance met a tragic mishap

on Friday morning on the Delhi-Lucknow National Highway. This tragic accident

occurred about 20 kilometers east of Lucknow, near the Ataria police station in

the Sitapur district. The cause of the accident is said to be a tyre burst of

the ambulance. The accident was so dreadful that pedestrians were horrified to

see the bodies lying on the roadside.

Upon receiving information from passersby, local police arrived

at the scene and launched a rescue operation. Four people, including a

passerby, have died in the accident so far. A girl is in critical condition. It

is being reported that the ambulance's tyre burst on a culvert in front of Hind

Hospital in the Ataria area, causing the ambulance to lose control and fall

into a ditch. The ambulance driver also died in the accident. According to

information, residents of Dehradun, Uttarakhand, were traveling to Varanasi for

treatment of back injury. The accident-prone vehicle, a private ambulance from

Uttarakhand, bearing registration number UK 07-PA 2020. Private vehicle driver

Gurmeet, who is said to be around 23 years old and a resident of Haridwar, died

on the spot. The deceased include Vishal Pandey, son of Gopal Swaroop Pandey,

Dehradun, age 40 years, Divyanshu Pandey, age around 44 years. In the same accident, an unidentified woman, said to be about 45

years old, who was standing in front of Hind Hospital, also died on the spot.

A girl, around 12 years old, who sustained injuries in the accident,

is undergoing treatment at Hind Hospital. Ataria police arrived at the scene

and prepared an inquest report and sent the bodies for post-mortem. According

to the police, complete information about the deceased is being gathered so that

their families can be informed.

Deceasaed include: Vishal Pandey, son of Gopal Swarup Pandey,

age 40 years, Divyansh Pandey, son of Gopal Swarup Pandey, age 44 years, Ambulance

driver Gurmeet, 23, resident of Haridwar and unidentified 45-year-old woman.
