Leh, 7 January (H.S.): Padma Desal scored six goals to guide Sham Eagles to an 8-3 win against Chiktan Queens. The Eagles started their season on a high note and set a record for the highest scoring match of the season. In the men's category, Changthan Shans maintained their unbeaten start and beat Zanskar Chadar Tamers 7-2. Purig Warriors won 5-2, ending Sham Wolves' unbeaten run.
The match between Hummas Warriors and Shakar Chiktan Royals ended in a 3-3 draw. The Royal Enfield Ice Hockey League Season 2 is being jointly organised by the Ladakh Administration and Ladakh Ice Hockey Association at the Nawang Dorje Stobdan (NDS) Stadium in Leh.
Purig Warriors end Sham Wolves' unbeaten run with a 5-2 win
Purig Warriors put up a brilliant performance to beat Sham Wolves 5-2 and knock them out of the unbeaten run in the fourth match of the day. Early in the match, the Warriors took a 2-0 lead within 12 minutes with goals from Imran Ali and Nadeem Sarwar.
However, Urgain Choshjor gave Wolves a hope of a comeback with a goal in the 13th minute. At the end of the first period, the Warriors were ahead 2-1. The second period saw the Warriors show more dominance, with Sarfraz Hussain and Bashar Ali scoring goals, extending the lead to 4-1. Although Urgain Choshjor scored a second goal for the Wolves in the third period, a late goal from Mohammad Ali Baba ensured the Warriors' victory.
Humas Warriors and Shaker Chiktan Royals draw in a thrilling 3-3
The second match of the day saw a thrilling encounter between Humas Warriors and Shaker Chiktan Royals, which ended in a 3-3 draw. Humas Warriors started confidently after their previous 6-1 win, and captain Waseem Bilal scored in the 12th minute to put his side 1-0 ahead. But Shaker Chiktan Royals turned the match around with a goal from Hamid Khan in the 28th minute and then two quick goals from Vilayat Ali, to make it 3-1. Humas Warriors came back and made it 3-2 with a goal from Isha Mohammad. Waseem Bilal scored a crucial goal in the final 20 seconds of the match and the contest ended at 3-3.
Sham Eagles' stunning 8-3 win: Padma Desal's six-goal masterclass
Sham Eagles got their season off to a great start by beating Chiktan Quins 8-3 and winning the highest scoring match of the season. The Eagles dominated from the start, with Padma Desal and Rizan Angmo scoring in the first 8 minutes to give the team a 2-0 lead. Padma Desal, who scored a total of six goals in the match, scored her second goal in the second period. Mepham Dolkar scored a goal for the Quins in the 32nd minute, but Padma immediately scored her third in the 34th minute. Chunzin Chamjo scored the fourth goal for the Eagles, and then Padma scored her fourth to make it 6-1. The Quins scored two quick goals in the third period, but Padma scored two more in the 47th and 51st minutes to give her team a stunning win. With this win, the Eagles set a high standard for the season.

The Changthan Shans continued their unbeaten run by defeating the Zanskar Chadar Tamers 7-2 on Day 4 of the Royal Enfield Ice Hockey League Season 2. Dorjan Namgyal scored within the first 2 minutes of the match to give the Shans the lead. There were no more goals in the first period, and the Shans went into the second period with a 1-0 lead. The Shans dominated the second period, with goals from Thinlay Dorjay, Tsewan Dorjay, Dorjan Namgyal (with his second goal), and Padma Namgyal, taking the score to 5-0. Lobzang Tharpa of the Tamers scored a goal towards the end to make the score 5-1. Richen Wangyal scored another goal for the Tamers in the final period to make it 5-2 but the Shans finished the match 7-2 with goals from Tsewang Dorjay and Chamba Tsetam to continue their unbeaten run.
