Bhuj/Ahmedabad, 7 January (HS): A girl named Indira Meena, aged about 18 years, who fell into a borewell in Kanderai village of Bhuj tehsil, was pulled out of the borewell after 32 hours. However, despite all efforts, she could not be pulled out alive. NDRF, BSF, Army, Disaster, Fire Department and local administration carried out the rescue operation.
Indira Meena fell into a borewell at around 6 am on Monday in Kanderai village of Bhuj tehsil. She was trapped in a 540 feet deep borewell for 32 hours. The rescue operation was also challenging for the administration.
Late last night, there was only 60 feet distance left to pull the girl out of the borewell, but she slipped from the rescue equipment and fell back into the borewell. After reaching a distance of 100 feet twice in 30 hours, she slipped down again. In such a situation, it was a challenging task for the team to rescue Indira, but finally after 32 hours of hard work, the girl was taken out. However, unfortunately she had already died.
