Stavanger(Norway), January 15 (HS): India's top women chess player and world's sixth ranked classical chess player Koneru Humpy is making a comeback in the prestigious Norway Chess Women 2025 tournament. Her participation in the tournament has caught the attention of fans and experts.

Humpy's chess career is full of her extraordinary achievements. She became the first Indian woman to achieve the Grandmaster title in 2002. Her other major achievements include winning the World Rapid Championship title in 2019 and 2024. In 2020, she was awarded the BBC Indian Sportswoman of the Year. She has also made India proud in the Olympiad, Asian Games and Asian Championships.

Norway Chess Women 2025 will be another big platform for Humpy to showcase her skills and potential. As one of the two women players in the world to cross the 2600 rating mark, she has set exceptional standards in chess.
