New Delhi, 15 January (H.S.): Many leaders including Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Pravesh Verma filed nomination papers for Delhi Assembly elections on Wednesday. Kejriwal and Pravesh Verma filed nomination from New Delhi Assembly constituency.
Former Chief Minister Kejriwal took a padyatra before filing nomination. Before filing nomination, Kejriwal went to Maharishi Valmiki temple and ancient Hanuman temple and took blessings of God. He had come here for darshan with his family. Before filing nomination, Kejriwal said that he appeals to the 2.5 crore people of Delhi to bless him. If his government is formed again, work will be done to improve schools, hospitals, electricity and to give honorarium to women in Delhi.
AAP leader Sandeep Pathak said that Kejriwal has filed nomination from New Delhi Assembly seat. We have been working for mothers and sisters in the past and will continue to do so in future. No matter how much the BJP people conspire against the Aam Aadmi Party and our leaders, the people of Delhi are going to choose Kejriwal again.
BJP leader Pravesh Verma also took out a march before filing nomination. He said that we will ensure that Kejriwal's deposit is forfeited. He has betrayed the poor people here and has done nothing for the slum dwellers.
BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri reached the DM office in Amar Colony from Kalkaji seat and filed nomination papers in the presence of Union Minister Hardeep Puri. Yesterday, the current Chief Minister Atishi had filed nomination from this seat. BJP candidate Vijender Gupta filed nomination from Rohini assembly seat. After this, while addressing the journalists, Gupta said that the people of Rohini have given him a lot of love for the last three decades. For this, he will work more for the people of the area. Union Energy Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was present with him during the nomination. Former Delhi State BJP President Satish Upadhyay filed nomination papers from Malviya Nagar. During this, MP Bansuri Swaraj and boxer Vijender Singh were also with him.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini attended the nomination of BJP candidate Dushyant Gautam from Karol Bagh. He said that Kejriwal had sought votes in the name of honesty and work but today the truth is in front of everyone. The people of Haryana have supported the BJP and the people of Delhi will also support it.
