- Commissioner felicitates APSC successful candidates in Kokrajhar
Kokrajhar (Assam), 10 January (HS): District Development Committee (DDC) meeting for January 2025 has held on Friday at the District Commissioner's Office in Kokrajhar. The meeting was chaired by District Commissioner Masanda Pertin.
At the beginning of the meeting, Pertin felicitated the talented candidates of Kokrajhar who passed the APSC CCE this year, including Manjit Basumatari and Srijit Basumatari. Since Srijit Basumatari could not attend the meeting, his brother received the honour on his behalf.
The District Commissioner reviewed the ongoing development schemes in the district in detail and stressed on ensuring adherence to deadlines and efficient completion of projects. He urged the officials to maintain progress, proactively resolve problems and make the schemes as effective as possible through coordinated efforts.
The discussions covered several key areas, such as promoting the Bodoland Handloom Mission, especially focusing on Edi Silk, which is quite popular in the South-East Asian markets. Ensuring that ration card benefits reach the right beneficiaries was a key topic, with him stressing on transparency and efficiency in the process.
Health care initiatives such as improving delivery care, strategies to increase student attendance in schools, facilitating universal Aadhaar ID registration and effective measures to fight diseases like typhoid were also discussed in the meeting.
Besides, Pertin urged the officials to exceed the minimum targets and achieve comprehensive results in all schemes.
The meeting was attended by ADC, SDO (C) Parbatjhora and department heads of various sectors.
