New Delhi, 10 January (H.S.): Under the National Clean Ganga Mission, special sanitation arrangements are being made for Maha Kumbh at a cost of ₹152.37 crore. More than 28,000 toilets have been installed in the Maha Kumbh Mela premises, including 12,000 fiber reinforced plastic toilets equipped with septic tanks and 16,100 prefabricated steel toilets with soak pits. Twety thousand community urinals and twenty thousand dustbins have also been installed in the fair area.

The Ministry of Jal Shakti issued a statement here on Friday saying that maintaining the purity of the Ganga, effective waste management and creating a plastic-free area are the top priorities for organizing Maha Kumbh 2025. The event is being presented as a benchmark for environmental responsibility, with emphasis on maintaining cleanliness throughout the fair area.

According to the ministry, modern technology of sanitation system is being combined with traditional practices to create a clean and sustainable environment in the Maha Kumbh.

To further streamline waste collection and disposal, 37.75 lakh liner bags have been provided. This well-organised waste management system will keep the event area clean and eco-friendly.
