- Five including Myanmar national arrested
Aizawl, 5 September (HS): A large quantity of methamphetamine has been seized in Mizoram. Based on intelligence, the Mizoram CID seized the drug during a raid at Lungwerh in Sakartoo Sahun area.
The police team raided a Bolero vehicle and seized 41.234 kg of suspected methamphetamine. The black market value of the seized narcotics is around ₹5 crore, and 36 lakh. Meanwhile, the police have arrested five people, including a Myanmar national, for drug trafficking.
The arrested persons have been identified as Adanthara (27) of Myanmar, Rosarliana (38) of Harshukaun in Mizoram Champai district, Vanlalvunga (47) of Rupagula in Karimganj district, Nasir Uddin (34) and Anurul Haque (37) of North Tripura district. In this regard, a case has been registered at the Special Narcotics Police Station under Section 22(c)/25/29(1) of the ND&PS Act. Investigation has been started.
