New Delhi, 23 September (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi
met Dr. Krishna Singh of Holtec International in New York as a pert of meetings
with business leaders to promote India as one of the favourite investment
destination in high technology domain. Holtec, the world's largest exporter of
capital nuclear components, currently employs more than 2,000 people globally
and provides spent fuel storage and transport for 145 nuclear plants worldwide
and specialized in building small modular reactors (SMRs) around the world,
recently in UK with more than 1.5 billion euro.
Holtec International does have
a presence in India through its investment in Gujarat, Maharashtra, even signed
a MoU with the Maharashtra government to set up a nuclear equipment
manufacturing facility in the state in 2018.
Dr Singh has over 70 patents
to his name, had his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of
Pennsylvania with more than 70 technical papers, one textbook and numerous
symposia volumes.
