(Update) Modi government will completely eliminate Naxalism from country before 31 March 2026: Amit Shah

New Delhi, 20 September (HS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Friday that the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will completely eliminate Naxalism from the country before 31 March 2026. Shah appealed to the left wing extremists to leave the path of violence and join the mainstream of society and said that otherwise a comprehensive campaign will be launched against them.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah today met the victims of Naxalite violence from Chhattisgarh at his residence in New Delhi. These included 55 people affected by Naxalite violence from Left Wing Extremism affected areas of Chhattisgarh under the aegis of Bastar Shanti Samiti.

Bastar Shanti Samiti also showed a documentary showing the suffering of people suffering from Naxalism in Chhattisgarh. Some people suffering from Naxalite violence also told their suffering to the Home Minister.

While interacting with the victims of Naxal violence, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that these people, victims of Naxal violence, are fighting for their human rights. The mind is extremely distressed to see their suffering. He said, How Naxalism, the enemy of humanity, has ruined the lives of these people. Their sorrow also reflects the hypocrisy of those who make one-sided noise about human rights. The Home Minister said that those who support the human rights of Naxalites should look at the human rights of those who are suffering from it. He said that those who talk about the human rights of the militants killed by the security forces do not see the human rights of these people who are forced to live without eyes, without hands, without legs. He appealed to the Naxalites to surrender before the law and give up their weapons. Many people have given up their weapons and joined the mainstream at many places in the Northeast and Kashmir. You are also welcome to join the mainstream but if this does not happen then we will start a campaign against it and will also get success in it. He said that the central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to completely eradicate Naxalism by March 2026. He said that due to the policies of the Modi government, Left Wing Extremism is now limited to some districts of Bastar in Chhattisgarh. Shah said that Naxalism is a threat to both humanity and the internal security of the country.

Amit Shah said that the Central Government and the Chhattisgarh Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will bring a scheme in the next three months for the overall development of people suffering from Left Wing Extremism. He said that through this scheme, people affected by Left Wing Extremism across the country including Chhattisgarh will be able to get the benefits of medical, employment and other welfare schemes.

The Union Home Minister said that through development schemes in Left Wing Extremism affected areas, the Modi government has given a message to the Naxalites that the one who saves is greater than the one who kills.
