President to inaugurate 8th India Water Week on Tuesday


New Delhi, September 16 (HS): President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate the 8th India Water Week (IWW) at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Water Power Secretary Debashree Mukherjee, while addressing the media during a curtain raiser press conference on Monday, said that the 8th India Water Week will be held in New Delhi from 17 to 20 September. Its theme is 'Partnerships and Collaboration for Inclusive Water Development and Management'. He said that Union Water Power Minister CR Patel, Minister of State Raj Bhushan Chaudhary, apart from eminent representatives including experts from the water resources sector of various countries, ministers and senior officials of the Central and State Governments, learned faculty of various academic institutions, representatives of non-governmental organizations and civil society will participate in this program.

This international program is being organized by the Ministry of Water Power from 17 to 20 September at Bharat Mandapam.

The Secretary further informed that India Water Week was conceptualised by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India as an innovative concept aimed at initiating regular and systematic discussions and interactions with eminent stakeholders through seminars, exhibition and other parallel sessions aimed at creating mass awareness, garnering support for implementing key strategies for conservation, protection and optimal utilisation of available water.
