Delhi, 6 July (H.S): The Parliament's Budget Session for the year 2024 has been scheduled to take place from July 22 to August 12, as announced by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Saturday. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget on July 23.

The proposal for summoning both Houses of Parliament during this period has been approved by the Indian President, on the recommendation of the government.

This will be the first budget to be presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government in its third term, and there is a lot of anticipation surrounding it after President Droupadi Murmu's statement that it will include many historic measures. In her address to the joint sitting of Parliament, she had mentioned that the budget will focus on major social and economic decisions.

The previous interim budget was presented in February due to the Lok Sabha elections held between April and June.
