North Dinajpur, 26 July (H.S.):

The asbestos roof of a house was blown away in a sudden explosion at Thengapada area under Gangarampur police station in West Bengal's North Dinajpur district on Friday. It is initially believed that someone had stored bombs in that house. Those bombs exploded. There is no news of any casualties in this incident.

The house in which the bomb exploded is controversial. According to local sources, that house was the office of SFI, the student organization of the left, a long time ago. It is alleged that later the Trinamool occupied the house. The roof of that house was made of asbestos which was blown away in the explosion on Friday.

On information, a large number of police force from Gangarampur police station reached the spot. Fire brigade also reached the spot from Gangarampur. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
