Man killed two injured after dumper catches fire in Sultanpur


Sultanpur, 28 June (HS): On Friday morning, a man was killed and two others were injured after their dumper crashed with a tree and caught fire here, according to authorities.

According to authorities, the incident occurred near Vir Dhora Semra on the Haliyapur-Sultanpur road as Shailendra (45), the dumper driver, was driving the vehicle to unload stones. The driver lost control and struck with a tree, according to R B Suman, the in-charge of the Para police station.

The dumper quickly caught fire and killed Shailendra on the spot. Two others were hurt, including the vehicle's co-driver. Suman added that people arrived to the scene, extinguished the fire, and contacted the police. When the police received information, they hurried to the scene and began rescuing the injured.

One of the injured was stuck inside the truck and was freed by cutting it with a gas cutter. He stated that the other one had been safely recovered. All three were brought to the hospital, where doctors confirmed Shailendra dead on arrival. The two injured are being treated, he added.
