Police recovers stolen government pipes worth thirty lakh rupees


Hooghly, June 11 (HS): On the night of June 5, Haripal police station under Hooghly District Police (Rural) had arrested seven miscreants with firearms and a big truck while stealing near Ilahipur Panchayat under Haripal police station.

After the arrest, the police took the three into custody and on interrogation it was found that they had earlier also stolen government iron pipes from various police station areas of Hooghly district including Haripal police station of West Bengal and sold them in a factory in Liluah in Howrah district.

On Tuesday, an officer of Haripal police station informed that SI Shubo Ghosh of Haripal police station along with his team raided the factory located in Liluah and recovered all the pipes stolen from the factory. Apart from this, after receiving information from Haripal police station, many other police stations have also recovered government iron pipes stolen from the factory in their area. Police is considering this recovery as a big success.
