Minor girl falls from train due to overcrowding, loses both legs


Kolaghat, June 11 (HS): Due to the pressure of the crowd while boarding a local train, a minor girl slipped from her mother's hand and fell. Both her legs were cut off in the accident. According to local sources, this accident happened at Howrah-Medinipur branch''s Haur station at around 10 am on Tuesday morning. The injured minor was first taken to Kolaghat Health Center. Later she was shifted to the hospital.

Eyewitnesses said that the Howrah-Medinipur local train was very crowded. The mother and daughter were trying to board it. Unable to withstand the pressure of the crowd, the girl fell under the train. Apart from her legs, she also suffered serious head injuries. She was rescued in critical condition.
