Kolkata, June 11 (HS): A massive fire broke out in a restaurant in the Park Street area of central Kolkata on Tuesday, causing panic among the locals. This has been confirmed by the Kolkata Police Headquarters located at Lal Bazar. There was no report of any casualty till the time of filing of the news.

According to sources, the fire broke out at around 10:50 am and at least nine fire tenders were deployed to control it. The disaster management team has also been deployed on the spot. The fire broke out in a restaurant adjacent to a multi-storey building on Park Street. People from nearby residential buildings and offices came out on the streets due to fear.

An official said that the fire brigade personnel have controlled the fire and now the team is doing cooling work. After the fire broke out, the disaster management team of Kolkata Police worked quickly to evacuate all the employees present in the restaurant.
