Nagaon (Assam), May 15 (HS): About 20 houses were gutted in a massive fire that broke out in Kathaguri of Dhing revenue circle of Nagaon district on Wednesday.
According to reports, the fire first started from a house. Local people informed the fire brigade. But, the fire brigade did not reach on time. Due to which, the fire engulfed about 20 houses.
After some time, four fire extinguisher arrived from Dhing, Batdrava, Morigaon and Moirabari and after two hours of effort the fire was brought under control. Local people vented their anger against the police for not reaching the spot despite filing a report at Ahom village police station.
A man named Akkas Ali (45) was seriously injured in the fire. He was admitted to Dhing FRU. The doctors referred him to Nagaon Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
