Assam Pradesh Congress President Bhupen Kumar Bora gave a ridiculous answer to a question asked by Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge during the press conference on Saturday. The question was asked regarding opposition unity. It was related to the pitting of Aam Aadmi Party candidate Manoj Dhanwar against Assam Jatiya Parishad's Lurin Jyoti Gogoi, the opposition's collective candidate from the Dibrugarh Lok Sabha seat.

The Congress president said that it was due to Lurin's insistence that the Aam Aadmi Party fielded its candidate from Dibrugarh. Not only this, the Congress President said that fielding the Aam Aadmi Party candidate has only benefited the opposition candidate. The Congress President said that the Aam Aadmi Party had agreed to leave the Dibrugarh seat, but candidates were fielded on the insistence of the Congress.

The State Congress President also made Jitendra Singh, AICC general secretary in charge of Assam present there, a witness to this. The journalists were surprised by this type of answer from the Congress President. Kharge remained sitting silently during this period.
