Villagers boycotting elections, agreed to vote in UP


Lucknow, 27 April (HS): The ongoing protest by the rural voters of Majra Mallahan Kheda village in Bakshi Ka Talab area of Lucknow with the slogan of boycotting the Lok Sabha elections ended. On Saturday, BDO Pooja Pandey and BLO Sudha Singh reached the village area and talked to the rural voters. After which the villagers agreed and got ready to vote. A total of 525 voters reside in Majra, Mallahan Kheda of villages Kathwara in Bakshi Ka Talab area, protest was being held on their behalf for two days. Their demand was that there has been no development in their rural areas. MLA Yogesh Shukla did nothing. In the last elections, BJP had got 432 votes out of 525, yet the promise of development was not fulfilled.

BDO Pooja Pandey, who reached Majra Mallahan Kheda village, has stopped the rural voters from boycotting the voting by citing the issues of marriage procession, crematorium and participation in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Rural voters say that they have withdrawn the election boycott on the promise of election team member Pooja Pandey. Now they will all vote.
