INDIA coalition seeks votes to implement religion-based reservation: PM Modi

Bareilly, 25 April (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted INDIA bloc parties on Thursday, claiming they are seeking votes to change the Constitution to grant religion-based reservation, while he wants 400 seats to prevent them from taking away the quota rights of people from the SC, ST, and OBC categories.

Addressing a gathering in Aonla, Bareilly district, he stated that the Congress intended to undertake not just an economic census, but also a survey of institutions and offices.

“The INDI alliance is seeking votes to amend the Constitution to establish religion-based reservations. I'm requesting 400 seats to prevent them from robbing SC, ST, and OBC people of their reservations. I need 400 seats so that no one can take away your rights,” he stated.

Referring to backward classes like as the Yadav, Kushwaha, Maurya, Gurjar, Rajbhar, Teli, and Pal groups, the prime minister stated, I will never allow the Samajwadi Party and Congress to take away your right to reservation. This is Modi's assurance. If two persons in a backward or Dalit household work, they would steal one's job and give it to those they believe have first claim to the country's riches, Modi stated.

He was referring to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's 2006 statement that minorities, particularly Muslims, had first claim to the country's resources. He said that the Congress and SP regarded themselves superior to Lord Ram and disrespected Shri Krishna. Modi attacked the opposition for dynastic politics, claiming that family is important to them.

SP stated that he could not identify any Yadav outside of his family to distribute tickets in Budaun, Mainpuri, Firozabad, Azamgarh, or Kannauj.

Modi stated that the purpose of this Lok Sabha election is to entirely free the country from the attitude of slavery that has existed for 1,000 years and to raise India's self-esteem to unprecedented heights.

Seeking to take credit for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, the prime minister stated that individuals from the SP and Congress used to argue that the BJP refused to provide the date of temple construction.

“With your blessings, we were able to build a temple and hold a dedication ceremony. We provided them with the date, time, and location, as well as an invitation. They felt themselves superior to Lord Ram. They declined the invitation to the consecration ceremony so that their vote bank was not disrupted, he said.

Modi said that the SP and Congress did not even leave Lord Krishna. “When I entered the water to visit Shri Krishna's city of Dwarka, which was submerged, 'shahzade' (Rahul Gandhi) of the Congress made fun of me.” He further stated that dynastic SP members conduct 'aarti' for anyone who disrespect him. The Prime Minister stated that the SP, Congress, and their INDI coalition will go to any length to appease...there is an outcry throughout the country as a result of the Congress' harmful ambitions. The frightening 'panja' (Congress' poll symbol) is about to grab the rights of the people of the country again.

He repeated that the opposition alliance wants to take away women's 'mangalsutra'.
