Guwahati, 04 May (HS): The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for the four northeastern states of Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Manipur. There has been a warning of heavy rainfall in these four states in the next 24 hours.

According to the estimates of the Meteorological Department, there may be 115.5 to 204.4 mm of rainfall in these four states. Besides, there is also a possibility of a cyclonic storm in Assam. According to the report of the department, there is a possibility of rain, snowfall as well as sporadic thunder, lightning and strong winds moving at a speed of 40-50 km per hour in the Northeastern states.
