New Delhi, April 25 (HS): Delhi's Patiala House Court has given 30 days more time to Delhi Police to investigate the six accused in the Parliament security breach case. Special Judge Hardeep Kaur gave this order.

Delhi Police had filed a petition demanding 45 more days to complete the investigation of the case and file the chargesheet. Delhi Police said that some witnesses have to be interrogated and some investigation reports are also awaited.

Today all the accused in this case were also presented in the court. Earlier on March 11, the court had given Delhi Police additional time of 45 days for investigation. On January 5, the court had ordered polygraph, narco and brain mapping of the accused. Delhi Police have filed charges against these accused under Section 16A of UAPA.

On December 13, two accused jumped into the auditorium from the visitors' gallery of Parliament and one of the accused, while walking on top of the auditorium's desk, took out something from his shoes due to which suddenly yellow smoke started coming out. There was chaos in the house after the incident. Amidst the commotion and smoke, some MPs caught these youth and also beat them. After some time, Parliament security personnel controlled both the youths. Two people were also caught outside the Parliament who were shouting slogans and emitting yellow smoke.

On December 21, 2023, the Patiala House Court had directed the Special Cell of Delhi Police to provide a copy of the FIR to the family members of the accused Neelam within 24 hours. Delhi Police has challenged this order of Patiala House Court in the High Court. On December 22, 2023, the High Court had stayed the order of the Patiala House Court.
