Jorhat (Assam), 02 April (HS). On Tuesday, a public servant was arrested by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Directorate team red-handed while taking bribe in Jorhat. According to the information given by the Directorate, a team of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Directorate arrested Rani Bora, an accountant of the District Agriculture Officer's office, Jorhat, red-handed while taking bribe. She had demanded for processing the travel allowance of the complainant. Had accepted the demand for bribe in her office.

Based on the complaints, a trap was laid today by the Directorate in the office of the Agriculture Officer. The demanded amount of bribe was given to accountant Rani Bora in a planned manner. Her hands turned red as soon as she accepted the money. He was arrested along with the evidence in the presence of independent witnesses. An FIR has been registered in this regard and legal process has been initiated.
