Kokrajhar (Assam), 3 December (HS): Along with various areas of the state, World Disabled Day was celebrated on Tuesday in Kachugaon of Gosaigaon subdivision as a two-day program. It was organized under the joint aegis of Kokrajhar District Disabled Association and Kokrajhar District Social Welfare Department.

In the open meeting on the second day of this program, former Chief Executive Member of BTC and BPF leader Hagrama Mahilari said that during the reign of BPF in BTC, disabled people got all kinds of facilities. But, currently in the reign of Pramod Boro, disabled people have been deprived of all facilities.

He said that when the BPF government will be formed in 2025, all kinds of facilities will be provided to the disabled.

On the question of Khampa Bargyari joining BJP, Hagrama said that he has heard that Khampa Bargyari may go to BJP, but till now he has not been seen wearing a BJP cap. Therefore, no comment can be made on this issue at the moment.

Further, Hagrama Mahilari said that BPF will contest alone in the BTC council elections to be held in 2025. The meeting was conducted by District General Secretary Safiur Rahman Joaddar. As a special guest in the meeting, MLA of West Kokrajhar Assembly Constituency Rabiram Narjari said that Divyang persons have to face various challenges in life. Despite this, Divyang people are not left behind. The government has provided facilities through various schemes, but it is not enough. He stressed the need to provide more opportunities in other areas including employment along with government schemes.

Many prominent persons including Councilor Prakash Basumatari of Dotma Council Area, MCLA Rahindra Brahma of Gumma Council Area, former Executive Councilor of BTC Shobhram Basumatari, former Municipal Chairman Dhruv Kumar Brahma Narjari were present in the meeting.

At the beginning of the second day of the programme, Kokrajhar district president Jongshar Basumatary hoisted the flag.
