New Delhi, 3 December (H.S.): The domestic stock market saw a strong closing for the third consecutive trading day on Tuesday, with a gain in the initial trading. Although there was selling pressure in the initial trading, the bulls took over after the first 15 minutes, leading to a continuous buying and gaining momentum in the stock market movement.

The Sensex closed with a gain of 0.74 percent and Nifty with a gain of 0.75 percent, with PSU Bank, Media, Oil & Gas, and Metal sectors being the most bought shares. On the other hand, FMCG and Realty sectors saw selling pressure. The broader market also witnessed continuous buying, with BSE Midcap Index and Smallcap Index closing with gains of 0.92 percent and 1.03 percent, respectively.

This resulted in an increase in the wealth of stock market investors by over ₹3.5 lakh crore, taking the market capitalization of companies listed on BSE to ₹453.41 lakh crore. In total, investors made a profit of approximately ₹3.72 lakh crore from today's trading. Active trading was seen in 4,067 shares on BSE, out of which 2,738 closed with a gain while 1,227 declined and 102 closed unchanged.
