21 December (H.S.): In a grand ceremony held at LTG Auditorium, Doordarshan
Bhawan, Mandi House, New Delhi, Dr. Rajeev Verma was honoured with the
“National Icon Award”. This prestigious honour was given to him for his
remarkable contribution to the development of society and nation. Satish
Chandra Dwivedi, former Basic Education Minister, Government of Uttar Pradesh, Vinay
Choudhary, National Co-incharge, Research and Policy, Bharatiya Janata Party
and Pinky Singh, Arjun Awardee, Commonwealth Games, were present as chief
guests in the program. The gold medal winners were present, who presented the
awards and added to the dignity of this honour. Receiving this honour is a
great achievement and a matter of pride. The dignitaries present on the
occasion included Jagdambika Pal, Chairperson, Joint Parliamentary Committee,
MP and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Satish Chand Dwivedi, former
Basic Education Minister, Government of Uttar Pradesh, Vinay Choudhary,
National Co-Incharge, Research and Policy, Bharatiya Janata Party and Pinky
Singh, Arjun Awardee and Commonwealth Games gold medalist, added to the
grandeur of the programme. The award is presented by Bharti Youth Welfare
Association (BYWA), an organization recognized by the Government of
India, working towards achieving the country's sustainable development goals.
The objective of the National Youth Inspiration Award is to inspire the youth
of the country. The award recognizes individuals who have contributed to the
development of society and recognize their inspirational work and services that
contribute to building a peaceful, just, prosperous and sustainable future. The
award is given to 100 people at the national level every year. It is awarded to
individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the fields of social
service, education, human rights, peace, philanthropy, business, sports,
health, entertainment and art and culture.
